OpenAthens allows users to access the library's licensed online resources directly from content provider websites, so long as the content provider has this feature configured on their website. Every content provider is different, but users must follow these steps to sign in.

First a little vocabulary....by Content Provider we mean a publisher or similar vendor that the library has a subscription with for resources such as article databases, journals, streaming videos, or eBooks.

Using the example of SAGE Journals, look to the top right corner for a login option.  Every publisher is different, but you'll usually find the login in the top right. In this example of SAGE, Click any of the login options they provide and you'll see this screen:

SAGE Journals sign in page featuring OpenAthens login option.

Click the Open Athens button and you should see the following login screen:

OpenAthens sign on with a search for Erikson

Disregard the sign in option on the left.  LOOK RIGHT.  In the Find your Institution search box, type Erikson, hit enter, then click on Erikson Institute.

Sign in as you would for Microsoft 365 using your email address and password.
