You can always speak with the Director of Student Experience and Accessibility, Whitney Mittons, about any questions you have or any feedback you have to share about your experiences, whether positive, neutral, or negative. In an effort to continually improve the student experience at Erikson, the Director offers students the opportunity to voice their concerns about their experiences. If a student has a concern they would like to share with the Director, they should take the following steps:

  • Sign up for an in-person or virtual appointment via the Director’s Calendly link; or

  • Stop by the Director’s office (#322) during office hours.

The Director will then meet with the student to better understand the nature of their concerns. If the concern the student shares involves a faculty member, a course, the curriculum, or something else directly related to their academic experience, the Director may also encourage them to talk directly with the faculty member or the program director depending on the situation. The student’s concern will be documented and shared with the Dean of Students as well as other members of Academic Affairs leadership, depending on the nature of the concern, so that efforts can be made to improve the student experience at Erikson.

In addition to the Student Experience Concern procedure described above, there is an Academic Grievance procedure and a General Grievance procedure available to students who want to file an official/formal grievance through the Dean of Students Office with Dr. Curry. Please see Erikson’s Handbook for details about the student experience concern and grievance procedures mentioned above.
